Rina Zin

Beautiful and beautifully dressed young lady from Israel, at the Rina Zin booth at D&A show last month.

I really adore Rina Zin's style and her commitment to her own style language regardless to trends or fashion.

The show before the show

Some people think the front row is more important, or at least entertaining, then the show. Other's get really upset by the amount of attention the front row gets and feels as if it's taking fashion from being a form of art to being a gossip ridden "Scene".

I'm somewhere in between, I don't really care about who was sitting in the front row but I want to know what they all wore.

Here are a couple of really nice examples from A'Detacher show last NYFW

Fun Day at D&A

Going to D&A is like a visit to a candy museum, you are looking at the coolest, newest most awesome things but can't wear or buy any of it!

Designer & Agents is a small fashion trade show that take place right after NYFW. in which smaller companies, up and coming designers, showrooms and difusion lines can show their collection to potential buyers without having to go through the effort and considerable expense of having a fashion presentation \ runway show.

I especially like this event because in most of the booths you get to meet and talk to the actual designer, and I feel l seeing the person behind a brand always gives me a better understanding of what the collection is about.

Also, it's a really nice way to see how fashion forward people dress for a long and very tiering work day.

Subway Style

People watching, especially at public transportation is one of my favorite things. And out of all the trains, the L train is the best...

Love this guy's sense of color, you have to be pretty confident to wear both teal pants and pink strips beanie in the same outfit.

Cambridge Satchel Company Gold Mini Satchel makes any outfit looks cool.

Really great example of how effective a monochrome look is. No one item in this outfit is out of the ordinary  but the combination of all Olive outfit looks both pulled together and cool.

On the corner of Bedford and N7

Here's an experiment for you, granted it's probably easier if you life in a fashionable neighborhood like Williamsburg, but I'm pretty sure it can work just about anywhere.

You will need:
A camera (even a cellphone one will do)
10 free minutes

Pick a crowded spot, like a busy cross streets or a square or even a shopping mall exit.
Stand in the spot for 10 minutes taking photos of people and what they wear.
Go home and look at the photos, and figure out what of people's personal style you like and dislike and what can be incorporated in your own personal style.

It was a very cold day, and 10 minutes was all I could spend outside without freezing, I was surprised at how many interesting shots I manage to take in 10 minutes!

I love those boots, but don't think I could personally pull this off, however, the balance of loose boots and skinny jeans is very inspiring.

Smile is the best accessory. Also, casual vest over dress shirt looks effortlessly chic!
Love the reverse fur trim jacket, and the subtle color trimming. It looks warm without having that all over fur jacket look. What I especially love is the combo of olive green + caramel + a little bit of red.

Strange but cool bulky leather and fur jacket,  army boots and tight.  love how funky this outfit is.

Very clever way to look formal and keep warm, and still comfortable enough to carry equipment around. Sneakers + corduroy pants + dress shirt and tie + scarf and a big puffy jacket worn OPEN!

I love the way she broke the frumpy potential of a fur coat with washed out jeans, beanie and heavy boots.

Those 2 are just so Brooklyn.

Love the reversed shearling vest over a simple T-shirt and under a wool coat. Good way to layer without looking bulky or feeling trapped in one's coat.
Great boots, which balance the bulkiness of winter cloths.
